When Spencer Harrington is beaten, Evelyn pleads with Ethan to help her get Spencer to a hospital and away from the cult. Murray is arrested for assaulting Spencer and Ethan takes over the cult. When Kyle tries to intervene, he is hit over the head and Ethan takes Kyle with them.
Addario told Downie that the story was designed to test Nate and Kat's relationship. She called it a "vicious lie" that threatens to destroy Nate's integrity and career. Nate and Kat notice Billie floating face down in the sea and Nate rescues her.
Characterisation
Phoebe turns up in the bay later and they both rekindle their relationship and she decides to stay and accept his brothers for Kyle's sake. Kyle comes to the Summer Bay caravan park to deliver a gun and fake passport to Danny Braxton. When Casey and his brother, Brax go camping in the forest, Kyle follows them.
She is reunited with her former crush Darryl Braxton and they have a one-night stand. They continue to meet up, but Ricky always disappears afterwards claiming that she has to work. Brax learns the police are looking for Ricky and she tells him that she has been dealing with her late brother, Adam's estate. Ricky accesses Brax's business account and transfers $100,000 to Connie Callahan, the grandmother of Heath's daughter. When Kyle Braxton notices the missing money, Ricky tells him Brax is having money troubles. She then meets up with Adam, and it emerges that he is using her to get revenge on the Braxtons.
Relationship with Kat Chapman
Sveen added that Ricky "cares for Casey deeply", but she was just in a dark place. Sveen thought Nate had opened up a new world for Ricky and he was allowing her a chance to reinvent herself, as well as reigniting her passion for photography. When Brax returned to the Bay, Nate asked him to stay away from Ricky.
He was initially contracted to appear in about sixteen episodes and he began shooting his first scenes in September. He comes to Summer Bay to visit Spencer and convince him to return home and sort things out with his family. When Brax is released from prison he tries to win Ricky back. Nate visits Brax to request that he leave Ricky alone and avoid complicating her life. Sveen believed that Nate's actions were motivated purely out of concern for Ricky. However, Ricky is defined as an independent woman and would not like Nate intervening.
Other relationships include Nate developing feelings for Hannah Wilson and later romancing Katarina Chapman . Their relationship was jeopardised by a false accusation of sexual assault made by Billie Ashford . Another main story for Nate involved him being in a life-threatening accident in the Australian bush damaging his liver. Nate has proved to be a popular character with critics of the genre due to his attractive appearance. Nate made his final appearance during the episode broadcast on 5 June 2017. Ricky worries when she cannot get Casey to stop crying, while it appears everyone else can.
Ricky Sharpe transfers $100,000 from Angelo's into Connie Callahan's bank account. Kyle notices the transaction and convinces Kyle that Brax made the transfer and is in financial ruin. Ricky convinces Kyle to take part in illegal deals to help raise money, unbeknown that she is setting him up.
When she feels ill, Nate fears that she is pregnant and is attempting to trap him. Her operation causes pain and she is required to take prescription medication to aid her recovery. Nate fears that Sophie will become hooked on the drugs once again. He said that he and his character had been on similar journeys. Nate's storylines have often focused on his on/off relationship with Ricky Sharpe . The pair have reunited at various points during Nate's time in the show.
